The rules I use: with no first look, end the ceremony about two hours before sunset for family photos and portraits in daylight. With a first look, an hour before is enough. Outdoors, end by thirty minutes before sunset or the recessional walks out in the dark. Sunset portraits are a fifteen-minute step-out at thirty minutes before sunset.
