I could go on about budgets, but there is one idea I care about: decide what you would miss, and let the split follow. One wedding I worked, the cigar roller never showed. Nobody noticed. That is the whole lesson.
Name the three things people would notice gone, mark them Great, and the shares below move to match. Dollars only ever come from a total you type; I never fill one in.

Picture the day with one thing removed. If the night goes on without it, it was not a priority. If the room would feel it, write it here.

Every category starts at a share, and the shares add to 100. Mark up to three Great and they take 1.4 times their share; mark any Skip and they take 0.6. The rest give or take in proportion. Set a number by hand and that row locks. The cushion takes what is left.
