What a weekly trivia slot does for a calendar.
Activity directors do not need another one-off event. They need a Tuesday that fills itself. Here is why a standing weekly program beats twelve separate bookings, for the room and for the person planning it.
One decision instead of twelve.
Every one-off event is its own project: find the vendor, check the date, explain the room, hope it lands. A standing slot is one decision that keeps paying. The paperwork happens once, the room learns the rhythm, and the calendar gets an anchor residents recognize on sight.
- The host learns the room. Names, the regulars, who wants the mic brought to the seat and who would rather listen. That takes more than one visit, and it is the difference between an act and a program.
- Families see a full calendar. A weekly hosted program is the kind of thing that gets pointed at on a tour.
- Staff get to play. We run the sound, the screen and the score, so the afternoon is not another thing your team is running.
Eight programs in the rotation.
The reason weekly works is that it is not the same hour eight times. The Quiz Show read aloud and played with hands up. Music bingo on large-print cards, set to the songs the room grew up on. The Survey Showdown, one guess at a time. A sing-along with the words in big type and a wireless mic that comes to the seat. Spin and Sing, Name That Tune, a music hour from the decades your residents danced to.
Rotate them and week four feels as fresh as week one. The full menu, with how each one plays, is on the senior living page.
The numbers your budget meeting wants.
The published rate
A single weekday daytime visit is $200, on the page for anyone to see: one host, the sound, the feed for your screen, setup and pack-up. Weekly arrangements are quoted in writing for your room and your schedule, so the number in your budget line is the number on the invoice.
The trial run
Book one visit at the published rate and watch your room play. If the hour earns its place, make it a standing slot. No program should have to be sold harder than that.
Who this fits
Senior living communities and adult day programs, weekday mornings and afternoons. Senior centers and councils on aging running a program the whole town can come to. Clubs, lodges, veterans posts, parish halls and libraries that want a standing night members bring friends to. And town programs should know: Local Cultural Council grants fund exactly this kind of programming, and applications close October 15.
